Our mission is to make advancements in the prevention and treatment of obesity within zoo animals throughout the world by operating a facility where zoo animals and their keepers can come and learn strategies to combat obesity and weight gain. Zoo Animal Boot Camp accomplishes this by employing highly qualified personnel to care for and work directly with animals in order to develop physical, psychological and social skills. Our team is devoted to educating the community and raising public support for our animal care projects. Our doctors, trainers, and volunteers are committed to working together to provide healthier lifestyles for all of our zoo animals by researching the most innovative and natural techniques for maintaining their weight while being on display. We hope to send them back to their artificial habitats with hope and a game plan for keeping up with all they accomplished at Zoo Animal Boot Camp. We see it as our social responsibility to allow these animals to live healthy, natural lives.

Levels Red and Orange: Safari Camp operates as an outdoor camp. On Zoo exploration, campers will travel throughout the zoo, including exhibit buildings, and complete all activities outdoors. In the case of extreme temperature, campers may utilize designated warm-up/cool-off zones as needed. Camp groups will not exceed 10 campers and 1 instructor. Boot camp is where the men are separated from the boys—and these days, the women are separated from the girls. Then, the truly fit and mentally tough men and women are separated from the ordinary ones.
